T&A's Simplified Purchasing program specialist can help you
find a procurement
system that fits your needs and meets your goal of reducing the price of buying product.
- Card System
- A control and purchasing card for each item to be ordered using this system is provided.
Information relating to the description, vendor and customer, if applicable, part numbers,
tax status, price and economic order quantities is preprinted on the cards. Cards are
mailed to T&A and are returned with the appropriate product. Invoicing on this system
is bimonthly. This system works best for frequently ordered items.
- Direct Order Entry
- DOE provides for instantaneous transmission of orders, stock and price checks and open
order inquiries through interaction with T&A's
AS/400 computer. A personal computer,
modem and communications program are required.
- EDI
- Contact Kevin Ketter if you are interested in becoming an EDI trading partner with
T&A.
EDI is a computer-to-computer exchange of business documents such as purchase orders,
change notices, shipping notices and invoices. Most companies facilitate this exchange of
information by using the services of a third-party "Value-Added Network" (VAN).
A VAN acts as an electronic mailbox for each trading partner and is a less expensive
alternative to building direct computer-to-computer links for each partner.
- Stocking Program
- T&A assumes the responsibility for the inventory, ordering and, many times, the
physical
restocking of a customer's storeroom. Products designated for this system are analyzed
for minimum, maximum and economic order quantities. T&A may propose new storeroom
layouts and provide shelf labels.
- On line Ordering
- If you have an established account at T&A and you have one of our new
catalogs,
you can be set up to order on line. Contact your inside or outside
sales representative
